I have a suggestion about uploading, but it would be best on ftp servers. Installers like pagemaker take up lots of megabytes when downloading. Why not just upload the individual parts of the folder (after you've installed it)? I notice the part you double-click to launch a program may be only 2 mb and a folder may be 1 mb before you compress it. If you could upload the different files, you can unstuff them, put them into a folder, and it should run normally. The only reason a program won't run is a: a file or extension or plugin is missing or b: the folder requires you to have installed a keygen in your preferences folder. If you forget to stuff the keygen and the other person doesn't have the file, the program won't open.
Epic find xy! Luckily we have always had a Mac handy at every place I worked (and I always owned a Mac). I remember opening a 4.2 doc in 5.0, and then opening that file up in 6.52 - Adobe had major issues with version compatibility back then...
IIRC even on Windows ( ) you could only handle two versions with one version of PM; the actual and the previous one, ie; with PM5 you could open 'blabla.pm5' directly and import 'blabla.pm4', nothing else.
Thanks. So that means installing several PM versions on my hard drive. Well, okay. I did some research. There really does not seem to be a Mac equivalent for cross.exe. This little utility makes it unecessary to install several PageMaker versions on a Windows machine for opening different versions of Mac files (see http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=39). Typically, Adobe obviously did not write such a program for the Mac.
You should be ok with simply open PageMaker Win document with the Mac version. What´s essential is matching documents version with the application, ie: 'blabla.pm5' must be opened in PageMaker 5.x. PageMaker 6.x or above will not touch it.
HTH!
Is there a Macintosh equivalent to cross.exe? cross.exe is a free Adobe batch for converting PM documents created on a Mac into Windows PM documents. Is there something that converts PageMaker documents created on Windows into Mac documents? The problem goes beyond just changing the creator and file types (which is not sufficient).
It was my understanding Euryale, that Pagemaker 7.0 was just a bug-fixed 6.5.2 with added clipart libraries - you would be best to stick to 7.0, as 6.5.2 is much older. It all depends on what OS you are using I guess. I used 6.5.2 for many years, and was quite impressed by it's stability and usefullness.
This may also be the version that comes with an external preflight application (Checklist 2.5).

I am attempting to reupload this to mediafire tonight.

I have PageMaker 7
so my question is...
Is it worth to have this Version as well,
or should I stick with my Version?
specifically, are ther any major differences?
