Adobe Premiere 2.0 provides all the features you need for both online and offline video editing, including some features previously available only on high-end digital video editing systems. Adobe Premiere includes the following features and enhancements:

- The ability to capture and digitize QuickTime movies and audio directly into Adobe Premiere and to generate Edit Decision Files
- A recording mode that automatically controls any QuickTime-compatible board and many tape decks with device control
- A Sequence window, which allows you to build a longer movie from a series of smaller movies without additional compression
- The ability to preview a movie in the Construction window by dragging the cursor through the time ruler, or to view clips from their ends by dragging from the edges of a clip
- A tool palette in the Construction Window, for easier selecting, editing, and aligning of clips
- The ability to paste a selected portion of a clip, such as its filters or motion settings, using the Paste Special command
- An improved Info window that displays the current cursor location, the starting and ending points of clips, and any fade levels set on audio or superimposed clips
- A title generator that allows you to create animated titles using Adobe's multiple master typefaces and assigns anti-aliased alpha channels to them
- The ability to export images to Adobe Photoshop, edit them, and bring them back into Adobe Premiere. This feature allows rotoscoping on individual frames of a movie
- The ability to import sequences of numbered PICT, Illustrator, odr Adobe Photoshop files
- Over 50 new special effects and filters
- Motion control, allowing you to create a path of movement for any movie or still image clip, simulating three-dimensional distortions
- Support for CD-quality sound (16-bit, 44kHz); requires QuickTime 1.1 and sound Manager 2.1. Contact your 16-bit board vendor for details on obtaining the appropriate system software
- A library window that lets you store frequently used clips for use in any project
- An increment maximum image size of 2048 pixels x 2048 pixels
