Coldstone is a dream factory for games. If you can imagine it, Coldstone can help you bring it to life. Creating a professional-quality game has never been easier; from in-depth role playing games to a shoot out in the Wild, Wild West to interactive educational titles, Coldstone takes care of the technical details for you, freeing you to design your dream.

Imagine a set of powerful yet easy to use tools for constructing your very own stand-alone role
playing game... no rules... a completely blank sheet of paper on which to pen your masterpiece...
where what you can create is limited only by your imagination. This is exactly what Beenox, in
conjunction with Ambrosia Software, Inc., is bringing to you with the Coldstone game development
tool.

Coldstone is a role playing game construction kit that offers unprecedented power and ease of use,
allowing you to create professional, stand-alone games that are limited only by your imagination.
Unhindered by the complex details that Coldstone handles for you, your fantasy world will spring to
life as quickly as you can dream it up.

Note 1: This doesn't include a serial. I have one, but because it needs to be "renewed" every now and then and renewing it makes the old serial not work anymore I have decided not to post it here. If anyone actually uses this, just post your e-mail address in a comment and I'll send you the serial.

Note 2: There was a also CD with royalty free artwork included with the full version. If anyone has it, please upload it.

Click here to see a list of games made with Coldstone.

Compatibility
Architecture: PPC

Though this application might run in newer versions of Mac OS X, the games you create won't run in Mac OS 10.3 or higher. Using this in Classic is not recommended, but SheepShaver will run Coldstone games very well.

It takes some time for the admins to activate the download links. Search the forums for the "edit trick" to download files. In short click on edit this page and click the link of the file. Then it will download.

Preferably upload to internal server for preservation,
but it seems there are too many entries available at this site to activate the file.
If you add an *optional* external download mirror,
someone could download the file well. Wink

by macjames - 2013, May 11 - 12:33am

I uploaded the file again. It's version 1.0, can't find 1.0.1 yet. Hope you're still alive Wink

These fake download buttons without working link are very annoying.

by turtlecroc - 2013, January 7 - 3:14am

The link above is to "s3.amazonaws.com/macintoshgarden/" and it is NOT down, but this particular file (coldstone-demo.sit) is apparently not there. Did you mean the "mirror below"..? That's apparently been removed. I don't mean to leave insults, but i';m so sick of wading through websites with dead links, reroutes, fake download buttons that download some crap instead of what you were looking for, newer versions that won't even run on your machine, etc. etc. that i lose my patience.

The "moron" you mention, turtlecroc, contributed very much to this site at one time, and the link is only down because the United States Federal Government shut that particular site down prematurely. Perhaps if other morons would bother to spend some time making the site better (it is a wiki, after all) you wouldn't have such a low opinion of the garden.

by turtlecroc - 2013, January 6 - 2:11am

WTF?? Dead link above, and there's NO mirror below, despite what some moron wrote. (or did someone remove it..?) Mac garden has been getting more and more pathetic lately, with LOTS of dead links, mirrors removed, "bandwidth temporarily exceeded" etc.

Can someone please repost this or post a mirror? Thx.

Nice development software.

by CapQuebec - 2010, January 31 - 1:22am

If you need a serial to make it run just use KCNCrew, there is one in there with instructions to make it work. Working for me, now I just need to see if I can do something nice with it.
