This app's full toast image of the cd/dvd is available for download from macos9lives.com u have to sign up to their forums to see the post about it.
u will find three versions of cubase
original cd images
1) cubase 4 vst 24
2) cubase 5 vst 24
3) cubase 5 vst 32
u will want to download the 5.1r1 update from ftp.steinberg.net following getting the actual cd image from macos9lives.com and u will have a fully functioning cubase vst install!
can anyone at all please respond about this app? has anyone actually got this app to work ? ableton v1 + reason v1 both work great.. i would love to get this working as well.. or version 4 vst24.. or even version 3.x something.. cant anyone get on board and help me get a working cubase with rewire? the only one that actually works properly is cubasis 2.0 posted by tata...... nuendo 1.5 seems to work but then i lose mouse or keyboard connectivity.......
im having a strange problem with this app.. the first time i play asong it all works fine but once ive stopped playback, the sound stops.. and i have to quit and reopen the app again to get it to work again, but then the sound stops again after i press stop on the transport bar after auditioning a song.. i thought iit must be asio driver related.. so i tried to test it with the built in speakers to see if the audio cuts out after playing once.. and it does.... so its not my interface's driver....
kind of dissapointed... its here, in front of me, working, but not really:( i cant keep closing + reopening the app.. theres got to be a solution...
many thanks for uploading this, im playing with it now, and its brought back alot of 10+ year old memories, i used this software before a few times in 1998 1999!

Ehma, the good news is that your download link is functional. The bad news is that the Cubase installer from that download asks for a serial number in the midst of installing, and if you don't provide one, the installer quits on the spot, leaving nothing actually installed. Presumably one can obtain usable serial numbers from the usual suspects, but...

The download link is borken -- it yields a "specified key does not exist" error. This error has already cropped up, and been fixed, in various other download links, so I expect that getting this one fixed is just a matter of bringing it to someone's attention...
