Thursby Software Systems has released an incremental update to DAVE, its software to enable Macintoshes and PCs to communicate with each other.
With DAVE, Macs can talk to PCs or other Macs directly through TCP/IP, rather than using AppleTalk. Macs can use shared PC hard drives and PostScript printers on a Microsoft network, and PC users can do the same. Macs can view network devices through the Chooser, and PCs can see Macs running DAVE via their Network Neighborhood icon.
The new version of DAVE, 2.5.2, incorporates the following changes:
Keychain Support
Easy-to-use setup assistant
Improved DHCP handling
Virtually automatic setup on corporate networks
New installer to better support non-English systems
