Dinner at Eight is a useful recipe filing system that includes a collection of recipes from a nationwide sampling of restaurants. Users enter number of diners and program scales recipes accordingly. $59.95.

This interactive cookbook features over 140 built-in recipes, from "Barbecued Beef Texas Style" to "Escallopes De Veau A La Normande", along with a primer on wines and a short glossary. Annoyingly, the authors blew what could have been one of the most compelling features of a digital cookbook: automatic unit conversion. Only imperial units are supported, with plaintext metric conversion tables provided to let you do the math yourself.
