This app works with: SheepShaver, Basilisk II, Mini vMac

A (shareware) utility that creates disk images of floppies. Unlike ShrinkWrap, DiskDup can handle 400K MFS disks; unfortunately, it's less often able to overcome copy protection.

Second download link contains a pre-registered copy of DiskDup Pro. This is the commercial variant of DiskDup+.

Third DL is for version 2.7 of the standard DiskDup+ shareware. Runs on SSW 6 & 7. This archive is compressed with Stuffit v3.6 so can be extracted on SSW 6 or newer.

A little known tid-bit (perhaps): This has to be the only disk imaging software I know of that can mount Disk Copy 4.2 (and its own DiskDup+) floppy disk image files onto a System 6 desktop, like Disk Copy 6 & ShrinkWrap can in SSW 7 - 9. - Gets 5 stars from me for that, alone.

Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' with 'SSW 7' - IIGS User

Please add v1.3.2a to this page anyway. Smile

The one and only utility that can overcome copy protection is Copy ][ Mac. But it can't create images, only duplicate disks. Sad If anyone wants it I can upload it (I have most of the versions).

Edited by IIGS_User: Copy ][ Mac link added Wink

I've found a copy of DiskDup Pro v1.3.2a. do you think it has more features than this one ? Hoping it can overcome some of the copy-protection used with bad sectors on floppies.

I'll check it out in vMac and give it a check with Disinfectant, if it's not the same as this one, I'll add it to the page.

Yeah, but DiskCopy 4.2 does not work on Mac OS 9.2.2. DiskDup does.

Better to use Disk Copy 4.2. Smile

I've added an AutoTyper to the archive, so that DiskDup+ images that have lost their file type and creator information can be opened by DiskDup+ again. For some reason it won't give you the option of opening them even though they're still good. Now, just drag and drop onto the AutoTyper and everything's A-OK!
