What I find really appalling here is that the price of $99 is the going price for their current version 4.
In effect they are saying is: "Even though we haven't developed nor supported this outdated software in years, and during it's day it cost $69 not $99, we are going to charge you for inflation, even though this product has been off the market for many years."
Please contact our Technical Support Department to order.
And after you tell them that you refuse to pay the $99 and ask to speak with a supervisor, they put you on hold and come back with "We'll ship if for free so the price will be $89."
Requirements for Older Macs
If you have older PowerPC-based Macs that are not capable of running Mac OS X, DiskWarrior 2.1 is still available for purchase directly from Alsoft. Please contact our Technical Support Department to order.
The best way to use DiskWarrior and PlusOptimizer is to copy both of them on a stick, boot your system from a CD, launch DiskWarrior/PlusOptimizer from the stick, and optimize your HD.
If you try to start DiskWarrior from your HD it will refuse to optimize your HD. PlusOptimizer you can start from your HD but then optimization is not perfect.
However, you should nevertheless install DiskWarrior also onto your HD if you use automatic disk protection.
If anything goes in the Classic environment of Mac OS X I can't tell.
I had trouble upgrading my freshly installed OS 9, because of error -127. Disk First Aid couldn't help, so I ran Disk Warrior who fixed the problem nice & easy. Awesome program.
I became aware of DiskWarrior after having an issue with a folder on my desktop. I dragged it to the Trash and deleted it, but after reboot, the folder and its contents were back. I ran Norton Disk Doctor a thousand times and nothing! Somebody on the Internet told me that was a disk catalog problem--something Norton Disk Doctor couldn't fix--and that the only solution was DiskWarrior. It was. Since then I always run this little gem before running any other disk repair utility and I recommend you to do the same.

Can you tell how annoyed I am?
But you can buy a Windows 7 laptop with free Norton for another $40. With free shipping.

Oh ... beware of Norton, it destroyed my data in the past
!!
Disk Warrior is a lot better, and can fix problems no other utility can.
