Ideal for logos, headlines, ads, flyers, menus, newsletters, brochures, stationery, signage, etc. Easy to use - enter text in a dialog box, select from a scrolling list of 120 effects, take the result to your page layout or graphics application via the clipboard, or save as EPS or PICT file.
Includes professional power tools, like kerning, scaling, skewing, stretching, compression, rotation, up to 140 multiple pages, registration and crop marks, and color seps (spot and process). Works with any font, PostScript, TrueType or bit-mapped. Output to any printer, from dot-matrix to laser, color and Lino. " --from the included "Read Me" file

If you open the second download on the Citadel page and read the "Package.pdf" file you'll see that Effects Specialist includes everything in LaserFX and much more. It was sold concurrently with a much higher price tag.
This looks a lot like LaserFX, but with a new name?!
May even be by the same publisher. Anyone know?
Thanks. MacZip did the trick. The software installs nothing and seems to work. I played with the app for several minutes without a crash.

Use MacZip to open the archive and drag-and-drop onto DiskCopy 6.3.3. MacZip can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?4a5l6a7fak2a2 No worries, it doesn't place anything in your System Folder.
StuffIt Expander can open zips but on the Mac OS the contents won't have icons or file types, etc.
I haven't tested it with OS 9; I'd be careful since it's from 1992. For software this old I use Mini vMac--there's a version for the Classic Mac OS.
I actually use a native Mac OS 9.2.2 type computer (Powermac G4 MDD). As such, I've never felt the need to run an emulator and I don't have one set up.
Thanks, though.

I suggest you associate your .dsk file with either Basilisk or SheepShaver, this can be done in 'Preferences' for each appliactaion, to have it mounted under the emulated system. Else you can have a go with MinivMac and open the file as a floppy from MinivMac, either by command or dragging the .dsk file onto the open window of MinivMac when it´s booted.
HTH!
I downloaded this archive (ZIP format) but when I expanded it (using Stuffit), I got a file titled EffectsSpecialist_2_0.dsk that won't open (mount) with any of the tools I have.
What do I need to use the ".dsk" file?
