Extensis QX-Effects 3.0.2

These are QuarkXpress plug-in (Xtensions), allowing a user to add visual effects and changes to text and graphics directly in QuarkXpress.

Extensis QX-Effects 3.0.2 helps you quickly create professional looking visual effects directly in QuarkXPress with less time and effort.

• General Notes on QX-Effects Use:
  1. A Preview Warnings dialog has been added to warn you when a picture in the background of the effect will not be included in the effect for one of the following reasons:
     • The picture is modified or missing
     • The picture is rotated or skewed
     • The picture is in a picture box that is not rectangular
     • The picture is not a TIFF file
  2. These warnings can be disabled in the Preferences dialog. Choose "Preferences" from the QX-Effects menu to open this dialog.
  3. Adobe Type Manager's Text Smoothing option can cause a halo-like effect when text is included in the effect. We recommend turning this smoothing option off in your ATM Control Panel before creating these kinds of effects.
  4. The manual incorrectly states that holding the Control key down, while in the Glow, Bevel, or Emboss preview, will change the cursor to the pointer tool. This feature is only available for the Cast Shadow and Drop Shadow components.
  5. QX-Effects renders frames solid when generating effects. QX-Effects does not support gap colors.

QX-Effects Requirements:
• Macintosh System Software 7.5.3 or higher
• A Macintosh with an FPU - e.g; a 68040 CPU
• QuarkXPress version 3.3.1 or higher. Note: QX-Effects 3.0.2 is compatible with Quark 4.0
• Minimum 10 MB of RAM allocated to QuarkXPress
