On the international market, there is Cinemania. This one, "Lexikon des internationen Films", is a movie database in German language. This page holds the 2rd, revised edition of the year 1997.
Hints on using the application:
- The text comment written on the root directory of the CD means:
"Copy these 3 symbols onto your hard disk drive and run the application from there."
"Filmlexikon '97", and the 2 brown-colored "Bin" and "Notizen" folders. - To increase performance, you can also copy the folders "PUBDB", "LST", "DB" and "FTIDX" to the hard disk drive (copy the folders in the order listed, as long there is room on your hard disk drive).
- When started directly from CD-ROM, a msg box appears which tells "When started from CD, you can’t save notes." - Sheep will crash when confirming this msg box.
- Before starting the application, it’s recommended to quit all the TSR applications, like RAM-Doubler.
- To exit the application, find the "Beenden" button. It’ll take a while, but will quit reliable.
