This is the last version for Mac OS Classic.
First download is US version.
Second download is German version.
For alternative download of these and other language versions see original website:
http://www.lemkesoft.com/content/207/download-old-versions.html
Graphic Converter for Mac OS Classic is offered for sale no longer:
http://www.lemkesoft.com/content/182/order.html
However, since LemkeSoft is a very small company with outstanding customer support it still might sell all old versions upon request. So this cannot for sure be considered abandonware, but it definitely is shareware. The MacGarden downloads do not contain serials; the uploads are the original archives from the LemkeSoft website. Please do not add serials, and please download from the original website. The upload has been done primarily for archiving purposes since public company archives for Mac OS Classic nowadays vanish so very fast.
Available separately: Version 2.x, Version 3.x, Version 4.x
CompatibilityPPC
Mac OS 8.6

GC is fine but very slow and so... different past to convertion to PC
Resume: GC is fine for GC. If you want use graphic, use Photoshop.
I love this program, prefer it over iPhoto. No extra copies of same picture or subfolder inside the pictures menu. I bought it when I had a Quicksilver 733MHz, version 5.9.5 and amazingly I am still using that same one in Lion 10.7.5. Mavericks 10.9.2 and still works!
Above download link to the LemkeSoft website is still fully operational: Download links for versions 6.5 and 5.9.5 in all available languages for Mac OS 9 as well as Mac OS X DO work. Just try!
the download links at the Lemkesoft site have been removed for version 6.5 Classic and 5.9.5 Classic have been removed (although 4.4 and 4.1 for 68k are still there) - still isn't abandonware but thought I'd call attention to it anyway - the Mac Garden links are no longer a "mirror"
I agree, Lemkesoft is a great company that even wrote software back in the beleaguered Apple days. Also bought mine copy long ago and I encourage everyone else to do so. This is the kind of small software enterprise and that kept (and will keep) our Mac alive once big corporations move on as soon as something ain't "cool" enough.
As for the mirroring: As long as Lemkesoft sees no problem in it (I doubt they would) its a good idea to archive it. You never know when they will kick old versions from their servers because they assume there is no interest anymore.
I just bought a copy of 6.5 from Lemkesoft last week. I had to write to the owner first to let him know what I wanted. But once I did that, I simply bought the latest version and he threw in the SN for the classic one in addition to the current version SN.

"...what is this program doing here?"
It's being archived in case it is no longer available on the LemkeSoft site. Nobody of us probably will monitor the LemkeSite for how long they offer the download option for old software, so I thought it wise to archive it now, so that it is available when LemkeSoft dumps it. And since this is shareware - if not abandonware, this should be no problem. It's not the first time that Macintosh Garden archives shareware.
However, it might be a good idea if admins lock the download option for now. If this doesn't find consent I, of course will remove, the uploads.
You have no idea how useful this program is... i have really old (FAT) versions...
The Generic TWAIN in this version is really useful for old SCSI scanners... most of them will work.
But, if lemkesoft is completely active and it is avariable at their site... what are this program doing here?
Actually you are right. I have corrected above description accordingly.
I'm not convinced this is abandonware (pretty sure version 6.xx was released in 2009) - I'm happy to be wrong of course ... and if it is OK then a SN# is needed
