This e-zine application used to be distributed online and on CD-ROM. There are many more issues out there that could be added to this archive if anyone owns any of IMG's original CD's where back issues were frequently collected. Each issue has a wealth of info. about our beloved old Mac games.
A little history from Wikipedia.org:
"The website began as a downloadable magazine at AOL, with authors from AOL's Mac Games forum. The first issue was published February 1993, featuring a preview of Graphic Simulations' F/A-18 Hornet 1.0. The newsletter soon turned to distribution via floppy disk, and in 1995 via CD-ROM, which enabled on-disc extras.
In 1996, Deniz left IMG to work for Bungie Software for nearly four years as a producer for titles such as Marathon 2: Durandal for Windows, Abuse, Weekend Warrior, and Marathon Infinity, and a project leader for Myth II: Soulblighter. In 1999, Deniz returned to take the helm of IMG, which was now a website. In 2000, the CD-ROM distribution of the newsletter was dropped, although an occasional games CD-ROM is distributed to subscribers."

I have 41 issues starting from January 1995, just about everything from volumes three through seven, plus the Apple Student Resource Set. I also have a "Best of 1996" issue of IMG. Please someone contact me who can offer assistance in preserving these for future generations.
Thanks MCP!!
I've replaced the link with the version I have at the Old Mac Archive. It's not the exact same file; I think I have the e-zines organized a little differently, but they should all be there. If someone else has another external link they would rather see in its place, feel free to replace it.
And do keep looking for more Inside Mac Games e-zines!
Can someone re-upload this? The mediafire link doesn't work anymore. Thanks!
The Apple Student Resource Set CD-ROM has some older IMG preview magazines.
Thanks, bertyboy!
I have another 4 issues - from MacWorld and MacFormat cover discs:
November 1995
November 1996
September 1996
December 1996
I'll pull them frm the CDs and up them to MU so you can format them correctly and add to the archive. I remember reading the really early editions back in the day, SO much info, each one was a treasure chest of info on Mac games - sounds sad, but this was before the internet, where you could only buy Macs from Premium Resellers and I could fill a suitcase with Mac software and books in the US and fly back to the UK, saving money over buying the same stuff in the UK - if I could ever get it. Said it before, back in the day when you ordered a Mac by giving the dealer a large amount of flexibility in what you wanted, ie. "A IIci or a IIsi, any size disk, any amount of RAM." Then wait 9 weeks (I got fast-tracked) and get just the Mac and an Apple monitor (they were easier to get), but no keyboard. Had to wait another 2 weeks for the Apple Extended Keyboard (and it was over £200 with edu discount).
We all keep saying how expensive the Macs were back then, just priced a new 12-core Mac Pro, the fast CTO one) with a handful of extras (RAM, video card, and a new 27in monitor, just under £8000. Ouch.
Thanks to bertyboy uploading his old BMUG discs, I've managed to find more issues to add to this archive. Does anybody else have old BMUG or IMG discs?
The best way to find stuff like this in your collection is to use DiskTracker to make a database of all your cd's, and whenever you need to find something, just search the DiskTracker file instead of having to insert one CD after another. It's made things infinitely easier for me to search my old CD collection. MacAddict CD's not only had the DiskTracker software, but included a catalog of all their previous CD's!
think i've got a few somewhere...

I also have about twenty MacFormat & MacAction CDs from the nineties. i'll have to go through 'em...
It's pretty important to check those old discs for updaters, patches, and cheats that we may not already have on this site. I've got some old mac CDs myself, just not IMG discs.
I still have one disc (December 1994, with issues Nov '94 and Oct '94 as well) that our family got from the store where we bought our Macintosh. I remember looking through the folders of the disc again and again, hunting for screenshots and demo versions - back then I could barely form a proper english sentence and understood close to nothing. (yeah, hold it, I know, still can't do it properly
)
Anyway, great memories. They were doing an awesome job with those CDs back then, something I realized when I knew enough english to actually read all the articles. Finding information on new Macintosh games etc. had always been very difficult, especially during the early and mid 90s. As I said, I still have one disc and I'll try to add it to the file as soon as I get back from a short trip next weekend. Thanks for uploading it!
