Great stand alone document writer. Typically Mac: Good and creative. It would be interesting to speculate whether MacDoc would have been developed further if Adobe hadn't invented PDF. Version 1.3 impossible to find on the web nowadays.
First download is installer version 1.0.
Second download is preinstalled version 1.3. For installing on your HD move MacDoc Writer to the Extension Folder of your System Folder. For writing MacDoc documents go to the Chooser and select MacDoc Writer; it's basicly a printer like Print2PDF or AdobePS or Laserwriter 8.
The MacDoc Viewer is an application with which you can view MacDoc documents. The uploaded version 1.3 is the German localization. The original installer has via custom install several language localisations. So, if any of you has an installer version 1.3 please upload.
The 1.3 archive has been created with Stuffit Deluxe 5.5. The 1.0 archive is a download from the web.
Version 1.0 I uploaded for those who want an English version of the viewer.
MacDoc Writer 1.3 and 1.0 are both in English. There do not exist localized versions.
I deleted the download link to archive . org (www . macnetic . de), because the hqx archive for the installer version 1.3 provided there for download is damaged.

Replaced the damaged installer version with a preinstalled version 1.3 and an installer version 1.0. I have tested download via the edit trick. If there is a fallout again please tell me I will reupload.
Oops, the uploaded archive might be defect. I downloaded this archive from the above mentioned www . archive . org link, and updoaded it without opening. I will try to find an alternative download. If I do not find an installer version, I will upload my preinstalled version from my HD. This, however, does not have the international installers the installer version has. If someone of you has a working installer version, feel free to replace my uploaded archive with this.
Used to be shareware. Macnetic Software, however, does not offer MacDoc anymore.
Is supposed to work on Mac OS 7.0 upwards. I use it on Mac OS 9.2.2 where it works seamlessly.
Not tested under emulation, including Classic environment.
