MacNFS 3.0p3

MacNFS allows you to mount NFS shares just like they where AFP or AppleTalk shares in Classic Mac OS.

Really useful if you want to re-enable file sharing between your old-school Mac running Mac OS 7.6 through 9.2.2 and your brand new Mac running OS X Mavericks (or any older version of Mac OS X for that matter).

You will also need NFS Manager on your OSX machine to configure the shares you will be connecting to.

A small guide to get you started:

*Install MacNFS on your "Classic" machine
Extract the archive and drop the file named "MacNFS" in your extensions folder and reboot.
Now, if you go to the Apple menu and open the chooser, you should have an icon named MacNFS. Goodie. Click it and it asks for a serial number. Enter the one posted above.

*NFS Manager on your OSX/Intel machine
OSX already has NFS implemented, since it's a UNIX based operating system (and NFS is the default file sharing protocol in any UNIX based OS). What NFS Manager does is giving you a nice and Macish GUI for the command line NFS stuff. What you need to do now is add a NFS share and set some access rights.
This is pretty straight forward. Remember that you set access privileges based on folder permissions in the OS.

I recommend creating a folder named say "Classic" and setting the permissions on that folder to read & write for everyone. Then share this folder using NFS Manager. This is probably the easiest way to do it. You can then mount "Classic" as a guest from your OS 7-9 machine and move/copy/rename files as you wish.
