No, this is not the duplicate. It is the newer version of Claris MacWrite Pro 1.5, in disk images.

In the late 1980s Claris started a massive upgrade series to produce the "Pro" line of products. The main change would be to integrate all of their products with a consistent GUI based on that of FileMaker, notably a control bar running down the left side of the screen. The result would be a complete suite of high-end products that all looked and worked the same way, and would be able to read and write each other's formats.

For some reason, development of the Pro series took a long time; one developer claimed it was primarily due to extremely demanding quality assurance requirements.[citation needed] By the time MacWrite Pro was released in 1992, Word completely dominated the word processor market. There was simply no way for any other product, no matter how good, to make a dent in what had become a de facto standard among Mac users.

While the new user interface was a dramatic improvement over earlier versions, the program continued to lack a number of obvious "high-end" features, and was unable to compete in a checkbox comparison with Word and other Mac products. Performance was also poor. Sales were apparently dismal, and it was one of the first products Claris abandoned in the mid-1990s.

The word-processing module of AppleWorks is very similar to MacWrite Pro. While it was written entirely from scratch, it retained some of the design limitations of MacWrite Pro. However, later versions of AppleWorks are unable to read older MacWrite Pro files.

Is anybody willing to post version 1.5v3 here as well? That would be awesome!

@24bit: I do own a copy of the English version, Claris Home Page 2.0 and am intending uploading (the Mac & Win installers from it) at some stage. But as the superior Home Page 3.0 is already here, I haven't been in a particular hurry to do so.

About the "LassoLite" interface to FileMaker Pro. I recall this from when I'd purchased CHP 2, new. I had to activate it by registering (free) on-line with BlueWorld. Likely this is no longer possible.

When Home Page version 3.0 became available, LassoLite was redundant. Claris had built-in the Home Page to FileMaker Pro interface for that release, native.

If you decide to upload your German version CHP 2 some time, it'll probably prompt me to archive the English copy to the same page. Or perhaps someone else will, before either of us Wink

I have a bunch of Apple/Claris apps (also from Macintosh Garden). The only apps missing are MWII and MacProject II.

ClarisDraw 1.x (successor to MacDraw Pro) springs to mind as being missing. Oops, [appended] also Claris Home Page 1 and 2 and 3 (full version).

Only Home Page 2 to go Wink

One thing is missing: MacWrite II (1.0 or 1.1). I'm looking for MWII for so long, and I can only find a DEMO which can't save. If someone has MacWrite II, so please upload. I have a bunch of Apple/Claris apps (also from Macintosh Garden). The only apps missing are MWII and MacProject II.
Did you know that ClarisLink.net is down?

Hi folks, I also have the German version (but not the installer, alas) and I'll get around to uploading it sometime. It won't be soon though.

I was looking through some old CDs and found the Power Mac version of 1.5v3. It's a folder containing the contents of the install disks. I've upped it to mediafire: http://bit.ly/bg8dd3
