ModelShop is a 3D modeling program developed by Paracomp, which was known for their 3D programs, which includes Swivel 3D. To give visitors a better understanding of the lineage, Paracomp merged with MacroMind to become MacroMind-Paracomp in 1991. They later merged in 1992 with Authorware to form Macromedia.
Anyway, getting back to ModelShop, it offers no textures or shading, but it does offer a wide range of powerful modeling tools. Visit the following link to read about how ModelShop, along with ClarisCAD, was used to help in city planning following the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.

FINALLY! This software apparently works with Claris CAD files. Let's try it!
Update: Apparently, ModelShop 1.1 can import Claris CAD drawings. It was one of the few applications in existence that could directly import such files during the time Claris CAD was still being developed. ModelShop 1.0 (the version here) does not have that capability. Frankly, this application is only stable in a pre-SSW 7, 68000 CPU environment. I don't know how well ModelShop II fares.
