Mozilla is an open-source internet suite, comprising of Navigator (web browser), Communicator (Mail & NNTP client), Composer (HTML editor) and Chatzilla (an IRC client), etc. The Mozilla Application Suite is directly descended from Netscape Communicator 4.x minus the AOL component.
CompatibilityPPC only, Mac OS 8.6 to 9.2.2. Requires Carbon Lib.
Comments
I'm not sure if this is OS X native, it might be, but untested by myself.
If you follow the link I made further down in this page, [2011, July 22 - 4:23pm] you'll find multi-platform binaries of this version of Mozilla, including a native Mac OS X release for Mozilla 1.1 [mozilla-macosX-1.1.smi.bin]. Others include 1.1 version releases for BeOS, sparc, freeBSD, solaris, etc.
If it requires Carbon Library, when started under Mac OS 8.6 to 9.2.2, it must be a Mac OS X native application as well.
The Mozilla suite predates Firefox. Mozilla combines browser, email client, chat client, and web page composer under the one application. It would be more accurate to say "Mozilla 1.1 (SeaMonkey)", as Firefox (web browsing) & Thunderbird (email) are direct off-shoot branches, whereas the Mozilla suite continues on under the name SeaMonkey.
Because it is not Firefox?
Why not change the title to: Mozilla 1.1 (Firefox)
Think Diffrent
Thanks
@Pedreo1997:
Scroll down list on this page for the file "mozilla-mac-11-full.bin" to download (14 MB).
@IIGS_User:
Like SwedeBear said, but more like SeaMonkey, with combined email, chat, browser, and composer clients (I prefer WaMCom Mozilla on classic Mac OS).
link?
I have uploaded Mozilla 1.1 because version 1.2.1 (the latest version for OS 9, I think) has an annoying bug when you're trying to type something in the Google search field. I can upload version 1.2.1 if someone wants it.
Browser… 'ancestor' to Firefox.
• Any need of this?
• What is this, exactly?
