Do you remember the days of BBS, when some of us were happy with a 1200 baud modem connection?
1200 baud was fast those days, an incredible speed of 150 Bytes per second 
. You can figure out by yourself how long it would take to download e.g. BBEdit Lite 3.6 with a size of 640 kilo Bytes, given that your modem connection would break down several times and you would have to start all over again.
I came across an advertisement by Metatec Discovery Systems in 1993 offering a whole compact disk with Apple stuff and other cool things for only a few Dollars on a monthly basis. I subscribed, of course and below are the disks I have gotten.
(Before you ask, the July-94 release never made its way to me.)
The disks are containing data and audio files, therefore I made them .BIN/.TOC. You will have to burn it to CD again to use it with the Classic OS. Even then, I'm afraid SheepShaver or BasiliskII wont open the audio part of the disks. But I guess you will know how to rip audio tracks. For the titles of the audio tracks, please check the scanned booklets. (I did not care much about the audios)
As the whole collection on MF is gone, I would like to point you to Max1zzz´s great server.
Max moved the images to his private server soon enough to save files from vanishing.

You may notice some German sites allowing guest download.
Never used wired before. I am happy to do so if you tell me what to do.
I´ll have to re-locate the CDs on the attic. Will take some time.

Thank you, 24bit. I would like to use Knez but I have to use public chat before I can download. Now this is fine, and I have tried this before by logging in to macdomain and making a contribution, but of course my Frogblast connection knows nothing about this, so that is no good. Obviously I am missing something. Can you please put the files on Ubuntu1. I have created a new account there.

Ubuntu1 could serve well maybe too, but storage is limited there again.
I downloaded these in August but have only just got around to stitching the parts together and burning CDs. Unfortunately, some of my downloads were incomplete (I didn't check...arrgh), and the links are now all dead. Can someome please put the files for Feb 1994, Apr 1994 and May 1994 somewhere that I can get to. I would be most grateful.

Actually, none of those support bin/toc. They support bin/cue which is the more common "CDRWin" format. Bin/toc is unique to cdrdao on linux (and the many apps based on it).
To burn these on Windows you need burnatonce, which I've linked below. Works fine even on Windows 7 x64 (just be sure to run it as admin if you have UAC enabled).

I will be burning the images to CD on Win7, probably using ImgBurn, but I also have Alcohol 120% or Nero 7. Oh, and I have a 64bit Win 7 version of DiscJuggler too (don't ask me how...just go with it!)
I believe ALL those programs support TOC/BIN, but I have a CD burner on the G3 iBook with Toast Titanium 5.03. You tell me what the best way is, and I will follow your instructions blindly!

I'm downloading these on a PC too. I can drop them onto Stuffit Expander for Windows (from v7) and it stitches the .sit together and then extracts.
I checked with the latest Expander (in 10.6) and dropping the first part (downloaded on PC) onto the Expander windows extracts the archive, but doesn't stitch the archive together first.
Also, on Windows you can burn these using burnatonce. It will give a warning about inconsistencies when you open the .toc file because it expects the .bin path to be absolute. Click OK and it will fix the toc and begin burning. On Vista and 7 you may have to run it as admin.
The type should read "Seg1", "Seg2" and so on, creator code is "SIT!"

What burning program are you planing to use? The bin/toc things were made with Gnome CD Master.
I had no luck with Alcohol52% to create those.
Oh dear, I am downloading this on a PC. Will I lose the ability to stitch these together again?
Can someone post the type/creator codes for the multi-part files? I believe 1, 2, and 3 have special types that give custom labelled icons, the rest are generic...

The image files are .bin with an accompanying .toc file. The .cue extension with 4-7 is a mistake of mine. Please rename it to .bin and follow the description given by Protocol7 (see above). Burn the files to disk if you want them to work with Classic.
What is .cue? Isn't that Microsoft?! Can the files be opened on Mac OS 9?
Not really "obscure", that was the first adjective coming to my mind. In German we have a saying "One dog from each village". If you look for Pagemaker here, you get Pagemaker. Nautilus is some random collection,
maybe with a collectors value or probably with some rare bits and bytes.
...Why is that?
It is one f the more obscure items.
