GL Viewer is a GRASP movie viewer for the Macintosh, based on xgrasp an X Window system GL viewer, itself derived from GRASP by Microtex Industries, Inc. an animated graphics system developed for the PC AT/XT systems of the 1980's using the GRASP GL library format - For an example, see "juggler.gl" from 1989 (last item in page).
CompatibilityThis Compactor Pro archive contains GL Viewer 1.1.1, a THINK C port of glib (from the xgrasp 1.7 distribution), THINK C sources, GL documentation, and a sample GL library. This distribution completely replaces the 1.1 distribution. Please note that GL Viewer was built presupposing a 68020, a 68881, and 32-bit QuickDraw, and that it works best with an 8-bit color monitor.
Most of this work is derived from software copyright (c) 1991 by Patrick J. Naughton.
Although I have only added -- and not removed -- functionality to these programs, I am interested in obtaining any file that causes GL Viewer to crash your system. (N.b.: this release fixes all the known pathological problems in 1.0. ...So get your returns in early!)
A note for X11 hackers: Because much of the functionality that I've added could be integrated into the "normal" xgrasp distribution, ... "fly and be free!"

Comments
Actually, by zipping a StuffIt ".sea", the nature of losing the resource fork through zipping returns the .sea back into a plain vanilla ".sit", despite the ".sea" suffix ending.
I don't think its necessary either, to pack Compact Pro files with StuffIt (or ZIP) compression, as they're already Compressed archives. This DL is a good example of compression overkill, with Compact Pro ".cpt" compression, StuffIt ".sit" compression (with ".sea" wrapper) and then ".zip" compression, all used for the one tiny archive.
Even sending raw Compact Pro ".cpt" files over networks is OK, because like StuffIt ".sit" files, they don't have a resource fork to lose. If anything, they could be archived in a MacBinary II ".bin" wrapper before sending, if only to preserve their Creator & File Types.
If you ever need to restore lost Compact Pro Creator & File types, use Creator Changer and enter the Creator Type: CPCT and the File Type: PACT
The .zip contains "GLViewer 1.1.1.cpt" in a StuffIt ".sea" (Self Extracting Archive) file, a small application program to extract its own archive. The Zip format does not retain the Mac resource fork, so this application will no longer run.
You can however drag this archive onto "StuffIt Expander" and it will extract the archive OK - Tested as working on StuffIt Expander 5.5
Please compress original file with StuffIt and re-upload it.
