PAGEMAKER was the first desktop publishing program (DTP), introduced in 1985.
The last version is PageMaker 7.0, released July 9, 2001, though updates have been released for the two supported platforms since.
The Macintosh version runs only in Mac OS 9 or earlier; there is no native support for Mac OS X, and it does not run at all on Intel-based Macintoshes. It does not run well under Classic, and Adobe recommends customers use an older Macintosh capable of booting into Mac OS 9.

can't get this downloaded Pagemaker to accept the 7.01 update (btw: Powerbook G4 1ghz Titanium booting 9.2.2 - NOT Classic...!!!)
Is this version of Pagemaker some kind of pre-release ..(ie. creation date issue)..? even tried "merging" with the Demo version of 7.01 (..boy was that a disaster..)
thoughts? - ideas? - questions? - perhaps someone else can re-submit
The "Manual" is not exactly a MANUAL, it is more like a promotional brochure,
but it looks good though.
Sorry, NO WAREZ!!!!
"In 1994 Adobe Systems acquired Aldus and PageMaker."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldus_Pagemaker
But, the Wikipedia entry let's miss the version information back in 1994.
When I used Pagemaker, than was Aldus product, not Adobe
The war was short for me. We used PageMaker for everything, but it had two major flaws: documents took an eternity to print and sometimes they became corrupted, and when that happened there was no way of recovering them. They had to be recreated from scratch, usually in a hurry. When I found out that QuarkXPress didn't have those flaws I switched with my eyes closed and never regreted it. I still used other Adobe products, mostly Photoshop and Illustrator, but PageMaker, never again.
However, there were those who stayed with the fallen king until the bitter end, so this page should be a lifesaver for them--until it's taken down.
Another versions Pagemaker (1-6) are here: http://machut.valleyofthelights.com (DTP directory).
I remember sweet 90's years. Pagemaker was a King at PC computers.
And remember war aganist PageMaker and Quark Xpress users
I know you were kidding but what you say is true. People usually want old software to open old documents and export them to a forward-compatible format, or copy and paste whatever they can salvage. That's it. And it's not worth $499, not even the $79 for the upgrade if you are lucky. So when I said that we should lose the buy link and pretend we don't know, I wasn't kidding. This page represents $499 in savings for anyone who needs to open an old PageMaker document. But it's not my site and therefore not my call.
Just google "buy (application)" if you want to know, but I think you are safe in that area. Some things like AppleWorks 6 and Virtual Game Station are already up, so search the site before uploading to avoid duplicates.
Sorry I was kidding, (and surprised)
Yeah, thats too much money even if it was the last version, and on the same context
I also have some Mac software which I don't know if its Ok to upload here
I mentioned that on this post:
http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/bryce-20
(I know most of them are Ok but I'd like to know which ones are Not Ok)

No ma'am. 499 US dollars plus shipping and handling. And they admit it doesn't run well in Classic.
Maybe we should remove the link to Adobe and pretend we don't know.
You mean $499 Mexican Pesos right?
Cuz tht'stoo muchforamerican dollars amigo!
Sorry to give you the bad news guys but if it's still being sold then it's not abandonware; although charging $499 for this outdated thing is outrageous! So if you want it download it now before Balrog takes the link down to keep this site legit.
Thanks anyway TataMisia and keep the file around because one of this days Adobe will finally dump Pagemaker 7.0. By the way do you have any previous version like 6 or 5 that you could upload instead? Those are abandonware all right.
Thanks!, I got it,
For some reason the Stuffit 5 didn't work for this files, so I upgraded to v7 and ran with no problems.
thanks for the upload.. this is a good program.
I try unpack once more. It's OK. Stuffit Expander 5.5, Mac OS 8.6
I dont know. I unpack it without errors. Use Stuffit 7.0.3
Excuse me but, How do you open this type of files? (.sit_bin )
Because when I try to uncompress them, it opens the Stuffit expander and at first, seems to be Ok
but when the progress line reaches about 10% it goes back to Zero and starts doing it over and over again, this is the same with SheepShaver and Basilisk, also I have the same problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro,
