Put Away is a System 7 drag & drop utility which puts files in folders based on file types and creators, much like the System 7 Finder puts System-specific files in special folder locations when dragged onto the System Folder. You can configure Put Away to recognize as many types and creators and folder locations as you wish.
I suppose it could be handy if you have a folder of mixed file types that you want to separate into their own folders ... of course you can do the same thing by just viewing the folder By Kind and then moving the groups of file types yourself.
Application is on a DiskCopy 4 disk image (1.44MB) inside a StuffIt 3.5 archive.
CompatibilityNote: The Read Me says that Put Away "moves" files (and copies them if the Option key is held down), but under Mac OS 9 it only copies files, leaving the originals in the source location.
