Servant, an application written by one of the original members of the Macintosh team, was released to provide Macintosh 512Ke and Plus users the abilty to run multiple applications at the same time and to switch between open applications; to delve into the workings of resources that make up an application, a System INIT, or a Desk Accessory and modify its icon or PICT resource from the desktop; and to navigate the Finder in a more sensory manner.
See Servant Homepage.
Note: This archive contains the following versions: 0.79, 0.84 and 0.951.
The first download contains some corrupted archives. It is easy enough to get good replacement copies of those and also other versions from elsewhere. However versions up to at least .89 have an expiry date (long gone). Versions from at least .95 do not have an expiry date. There seems little point in archiving these versions so I have uploaded the most recent one I could find (version .953) - see second download which is a DiskCopy 4.2 image compressed with Stuffit 4.
A circa-1987 bound manual for Servant is preserved at bitsavers.

The files servant .79.hqx and servant .951.hqx will not unpack for me. Unstuffit produces an error message.
