Hey...
I need help because i can't download it. Please help me I need this Program.
thx
Im not using Stuffit 7, but i have installed the 6. A trick to keep compatibility with the 5 is to pay attention to the details. For example:
• Dont compress items already compressed
• Preserve Macintosh content
• Do not make text translations to mac format
• MacBinary set on ¨Smart¨
• etc, etc
And some others... check the new options for compression (on Stuffit 7) that were not included at the Stuffit 5 and use defaults on them.
The control panel installed by SpringCleaning are not affected by your compression settings, but the SC were part of Stuffit Deluxe (dont remember wich version) and these kids like to play together right out of the package.
About compression I recomend you using the auto option¨Stuff And MacBinary¨(.sit.bin).
The installer installs the control panel Aladdin Compression. The panel allows to choose between 'maximum compression' and 'fast compression'. I assume this affects Stuffit 5 and not 7 since Stuffit 7 offers the option 'better compression' and 'faster compression' through its preferences. However, I was wondering, what is better using Stuffit Deluxe 5: 'maximum compression' or 'fast compression'? I am asking this question because discussing Stuffit Deluxe 7 on this website it was recommended to use 'faster compression' instead of 'better compression' for Stuffit Expander 5 does not like archives compressed with 'faster compression'. Is a similar thing true also for the control panel installed by Spring Cleaning?
