Thanks Balrog. This seems to ring a bell in my ears from 15 years ago... probably why I never bought one back then.
What do you think about CD/DVD Drive Cleaning Disks?
I don't recommend floppy cleaning kits (they can wear out the heads). Rather, it's better to disassemble the floppy drive and use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to clean the heads.
Also, dust accumulates in the drives.
Amazingly, floppy drive cleaning kits are still available on the internet. After not using my Mac for so many years until recently, it's time to make the purchase.
