Vistapro is a program for simulating 3D landscapes. These are created either by using Digital Elevation Model (DEM) files or by using Vistapro's fractal landscape generator. Vistapro offers a variety of methods for modifying the landscapes, and provides the ability to export landscapes as DXF files for use in other 3D modeling programs. Finished products can be rendered as still images or, using the included MakePath Flight Director, a QuickTime movie. The additional archive includes extra Vistapro DEMs.
Its most famous use was for the landscape used in the opening credits of The Chart Show. This sequence involved a silver spaceship flying through a series of valleys that had been generated using Vistapro (Vista didn't support generating animations until the Pro version was released). Vista was also used for the book by Arthur C. Clarke called "The Snows of Olympus", a picture book about terraforming Mars. - Wikipedia
