This is for MikeTomTom, and anyone needing to repersonalise their copy of Quark XPress 3.x or 4.0.
For 3.x it is best to use the XSNT Reset, along with Reset Doc. This seems to be a foolproof method.
The registration disk included SHOULD be from 4.0 passport installer, but it should be blank, and should work with 3.3x.
I highly recommend that you update to 3.32r5, as this was the finest and most stable version Quark ever released! (uploaded)
Pls note: trademark symbols will fail uploads - remove tm symbols before attempting uploads.
CompatibilityUp to 3.32r5, quark still worked on 68k, possibly even with 4.0 (unsure). I have therefore labelled this as compatible with 68k emulators.

[Update] on my earlier post, Re the patcher utility "Quark Renamer for 4.0".
Initially I thought that it worked OK and it appeared to do no harm, but after a day or so QXP develops a problem where it decides that its no longer functional (reports a problem and informs you that you need to contact Quark, then exits). So I needed to then re-install QXP from unpatched backups.
I tried it several times on different Macs and SheepShaver all with the same result. So YMMV with this one too.
Please do, I appreciate all your hard work - this is a very part-time hobby for me - for others it is more serious
@themacmeister: Thanks. Not much hard work involved tho' - a "labor of love" as they say
The stand out app here is in the file "quarkrename_for_4.0.sit", it deserves a page to itself I think. And the "qxp_3.32r5_updates.sit" is an official Quark updater, specific to ver3.32 (its not a generic 3rd-party re-namer). It probably needs its own spot too, as it is useful, but to QXP ver3.32 only - so perhaps these two items could have their own pages. If its OK with you I can move them on.
Thanks for all your hard work Mike, I just rebuilt my 1.25GHz eMac USB 2.0, so will be installing Classic System Folder soon, along with emus. You may want to edit the Quark Renamer for 3 & 4 page to reflect your discoveries, along with the details (I believe anyone can change any page here - it is a wiki!)
Interesting... the archived Quark Renamer in the file "quarkrename_for_4.0.sit", repersonalizes installed copies of QXP 3.x, 4.x AND 5.x - the "4.0" bit in this utility's name is rather misleading.
The other ute's in this bunch are not as versatile...
[Edit] Quarkrenamer for 4.0 is possibly for PPC QXP only (although it runs on 68k Mac). It fails to see a 68k version of QXP 3.32 on Basilisk II, I have yet to test under an actual 68k Mac but will do so soon. It runs and repersonalizes QXP 5.01 on Sheepshaver, so for emulators at least I can only confirm Sheepshaver works OK with this utility.
[Edit 2] Have tested "Quarkrenamer for 4.0" on an actual 68k Mac (Centris 660AV) using the same copy of QXP 3.32 I tested on Basilisk II - and "Quarkrenamer for 4.0" has no problem re-personalizing QXP on the real 68k Mac! "Quarkrenamer for 4.0" fails to "see" my copy of QXP 3.32 on my Basilisk II install. Perhaps others may have better results?
So for now, I can say that "Quarkrenamer for 4.0" works on 68k and PPC installs of QXP 3 - 5 but not on Basilisk II. That is; For emulators, Sheepshaver only so far.
Out of the above: Quark Renamer for 4.0 is gold- and a <7KB DL at that
Many thanks indeed. Full comments and thanks here.
