The above download is a preinstalled version. It has the advantage of not requiring the CD to run. Below is a Toast image of an original CD...the game installed from this requires the CD to run (the mounted image is not sufficient).
The download at the top-right is the updater to version 1.0.9.
CompatibilityLike the 1994 Alien vs Predator game for the Atari Jaguar, Aliens versus Predator offers three separate campaigns, each playable as a separate species: Alien, Predator, or human Colonial Marine. Each player character has different objectives, abilities, and weapons. The single-player campaign presents the player with a conventional series of levels to progress through that are designed around the abilities of each character.
As the Colonial Marine the player uses a number of weapons to combat Aliens and Predators. The marine wears armor for protection and uses an image intensifier and flares to improve visibility in dark areas.
When playing as the Predator the player uses a variety of weapons from the Predator films such as wrist blades, a throwing disc, and shoulder-mounted energy weapons. The Predator is the most durable of the three player characters and can survive falls from greater heights than the human. The player can use a cloaking device to become invisible and several different modes of vision to detect enemies, including an infrared vision mode and a mode sensitive to electrical systems.
As an Alien the player can explore most of the game's environments freely, even climbing across walls and ceilings. The Alien has no weapons, however, using its claws, tail, and jaws to attack enemies. The screen is distorted into a fisheye lens effect to reflect the Alien's field of view. The player can also use a form of echolocation in dark areas and can detect pheromones to discern human or Predator enemies. The Alien can drop from any height without injury and is the fastest of the three player characters. Wikipedia

How do we download this Aliens Vs Predator full toast image ? i have tried Safari and Firefox.
Please. I lost a log of very old games from my collection so it would be wonderfull to get at least some back and this is one of them. Please how can we download the full toast image ?
Thanks a lot
'Compatibility' and 'System' should reflect the architecture the game has been created for.
'Mac OS X' in the green area above would confuse peoples, because Mac OS X 10.5+ will say 'Classic no longer supported' or similar.
I dunno, but i use this on my G4 with mac os 9, and it works nicely. Before upload, i try it on my Intel, and it works! Maybe carbonized software.
There is something wrong in Compatibility.
Mac OS 8 - 9 and x86(Intel) / "Universal Binary" doesn't match.
So the question is: what's true?
How does this run on OS 9? The only application in the download you can is a Mac OS X application. It even has "OS X" in the file name. Is there an OS 9 version anymore?
Its not patched to 1.0.4, in the ¨Get Info¨ window you can see it is v1.0.
before the upload (amazed that it runs so well). I will continue testing on it.
I was running this game in a mac core 2 duo (X 10.5.
The screenshots were made from that machine.
Maybe they mean Carbonised rather than Universal Binary.
MacRumors Wiki to games http://guides.macrumors.com/Universal_Binary_Games shows it definitely being a PowerPC app only, but it runs well under Rosetta in OSX 10.4 and 10.5 with the v1.0.4 patch.
But the MacGameFiles page for the 1.0.4 patch http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=16870 says "Classic Only".
Are there different versions available? 'Mac OS 8 - 9' and 'Universal Binary [x86 (Intel)]' doesn't match.
Probably the site system marked a different checkbox than you've clicked...
This is the gold version, dont matter if it says Os X, works perfectly in mac os 9 and dont even need a no-cd patch. Enjoy
AvP 2 is better - someone upload 2! I will be forever in your debt, dude!
Doesn't work in OS X 10.4.11 - Working fine on an ibook G4 1.33 10.4.11!
Runs nicely on my iMac G3/400MHz here under Tiger, will try it in OS9 in a bit. One problem though is that everything is too dark in all three species, even with the gamma turned up all the way. Oh, with humans the image intensifier is waaay too powerful, it makes everything white from light that is too dim without the intensifier.
Hey this isn't for OS9... only works in X.
What a game!!! A facehugger almost makes me scream of horror! Believe me, nothing like an stormy night to play this game for the first time, and soon, you will start to feel that you need new underwear... bloody, sick, scary and everthing else those movies makes you feel when you saw them.
A few details are missing: As a predator, you cant get the skin of any human, you dont have the retractile pike, and your shoulder cannon is not as powerful as you might want to be. In the Human part, you are a midget with a lot of guns and can get easily killed. As an Alien, you better have good sense of perspective when you climb or you will finish ripped in parts. Ill see if I can get the latest versions of this saga.
By the way: Quicksilver-10.4.11-9.2.2 here.
You can buy it with low price....
Move your eyes further down these posts, j_damage_69!
Could someone upload?
Ta.
The app included appears to be only for OSX - or cannot be decompressed under OS9 - can you please re-upload a stuffit archive - and does it run on OS9?
Yes, same here. This game is one of the best Horror/Action games out there, and I can't wait to give it a go.
can someone give me the link, you can't download it from here (yet) thx
