BeamWars is a really good multiplayer snake-type game. Not overly complicated, but a very good game for more than one player which is pretty rare. If I recall correctly, there are a lot of flashy features - for example a digital sound clip booms 'Welcom to BeamWars' at the start - but the gameplay is so simple, it's quite contrasting.
