Bonkheads is a 2D platform computer game first published and developed in 1996 by 1AM Productions. It was re-released by Aspyr as Bonkheads Deluxe for the Mac OS, Windows and Linux. In the game, the player must rid of pests in 144 levels that comprise the game world. The player can play the role of Grag, or have a partner join the game as Thog. Bonkheads was only moderately successful, and was said by some fans to be underrated.
CompatibilityThis retains the charm of the originial brothers Luigi & M., but is actually quite a bit of an improvement on it. When I say "the original", I don't mean "Super Mario", but the two-player simultaneous arcade game. I don't think many people with bother playing through the enormous number of levels provided, but it is a fine diversion for two players (and ten minutes). - no_ONE_is_anonymousE

I think I only played a demo of this. A great remake of the original Mario Brothers. Beware of Shrew Man Chu!
Yeah a karate rat with a walking stick! lol. Hee ya ya ya.. Godda hate the water level though with the armadillos.
Pretty nice graphics for the time, remember playing it on my Performa 630CD! The Boss is a Big Rat if I recall...hahaha
this was my favourite game as a kid - it's awesome, and so many levels!
only thing is, I can't get it to work on sheepshaver. It starts up for a second but then has an error message saying "cannot find LEVELS file, must be in the same folder" etc etc
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks
I absolutely adore this game! Many hours spent progressing through the levels with my friend, and it's still quite hard, even with two players.
I could only get this one to work in SheepShaver running Mac OS 8.6 and later. It crashed Basilisk II every time (your mileage may vary).
Cute game, btw. Really nice looking graphics and presentation. Nice colour palette.
Basically a clone of the original Mario Brother arcade game (think: the time killer in Super Mario 3)
