The balls can land in one of the two internally lit trash cans at the sides of the screen. That is good, because this is the only thing that scores you points. The balls could also hit the long bar at the center. This is bad, because they will push it down (everything in the game more or less obeys the laws of physics), and once it's down all the way, the game ends.
