"Can you survive the drama of medieval diplomacy, treachery and power? To win, you must defeat native militias, subjugate the land with castles, feed and maintain the people, forge diplomatic alliances, appease the church and unite the land." --Macintosh Multimedia & Product Registry Volume 9, No.4 - 1996

If you like strategy games, get this one! Even though it's sort of simple by today's standards, it has a great interface and the background stories really make the game interesting. (I only wish there were more of them.) Best of all, it's the most fun strategy game I've ever played!

If I remember right, patience pays off if you wait for the third marriage offer. Loved that you could build your own castles in this.
I have re-uploaded the CD version that was here once
First, I've uploaded to the site a new archive with disk images from original media and the previously included patch on its own disk image, all together with docs found on the web and taken from what documentation I actually possess. And an updater I found, also on its own disk image.
Second, I've uploaded the CD version to Mediafire (it's too big for the Mac Garden) and included a link in the description field. Personally I'd go with the floppy version.
UPDATE: Had to remove the Mediafire link, but I've updated the floppy version's archive with doc scans of the actual Mac package, etc.
LOVE this game, and have been looking for the Mac version for a long time.
However, this version doesn't work. All I get is an Internal Error -51 when I try to run it, and even the crack that comes bundled with it complains that the program information is incorrect. I'm using SheepShaver and tried OS 7.5.3 - 9.0, all with the same result.
Grr, I thought I had uploaded images of the original install media, but appartently this is a Finder copy of the installed version. I suppose that it's cracked too, so there is no security question from the manual.
Great game. I love it.
I thought I edited the game entry to add this information, but it seems i did not.
apparently this is Castles II: Siege and Conquest, but the mac release was known simply as Castles: Siege and Conquest. I was scratching my head about that for a while.
Use to play this game on my LC 575, but I only had the demo and the music is firmly ingrained in my head.
thanks for the share!
