Colin's Classic Cards

Colin's Classic Cards comprises hearts, spades, euchre and pitch, each of which had formerly been available as shareware downloads direct from Freeverse. They've now partnered with Aspyr, who have put the games in one tight package and plopped it onto store shelves. This is pretty much a grand thing for all parties; Freeverse gets more exposure, Aspyr gets a cut of the action, and gamers get easier access. The games sold for $20 each from Freeverse, and now everyone gets all four for $30. If you're dedicated to only one of the games, this will seem to be a drawback. Having all four games at your disposal, however, will probably lead you to eventually appreciate them all.

Those who have played the shareware versions of these games will mainly be pleased about the ease of customizing them and going online to play. No longer do you have to worry about what's in what folder, where your Freeverse libs go and whether or not you've got multiple versions of the Zebulon Pesci puppet (as if you can ever get enough of Zeb). That's all handled for you automatically now. Just install the software, launch it, and you're ready to go.
