Sid Meier's Colonization is a turn-based strategy game themed on early european colonization. In Colonization, players set out to discover and explore the New World, establish colonies, and finally achieve independence from Europe. This is easier said than done, as there are many challenges along the way. - Colonization Fans
Excellent game, classic in every respect, and actually reasonably educational in that it seems to simulate colonial existence pretty well while still being enjoyable. I have only some minor complaints: I've always had stability problems with it, and it virtually completely fails to run under 9 or classic. Neither the French, nor, especially, the Spanish have special abilities nearly as useful as the English or Dutch (and the Dutch, in some ways, have the best, which is interesting, considering the Dutch colonization effort was nowhere near as heavy an influence on later history as the other three.). Resource management is tricky. And the game as a whole is VERY difficult. Not so much in a computer cheats sort of way, like Civ III is difficult, but just plain hard: it's difficult at best to raise any sort of fighting force, and one that compares to the home country's army when you declare independence, harder yet. And even simple colony raising is quite hard with the multiplicity of resources and necessary tasks for a limited pool of colonists.

I mean to burn the toast file in order to appear the oiginal files on the cd and simultaneously to be an audio cd in order to play the music.
Is there a way to copy the game and the audio files in one cd via Toast Titanium 10?
Fantastic game, runs fine on my iMac G4 with OS 9.2.2. Cannot agree with the reviewer that it's hard - play it a couple of times and you get a hang on how the economy works. After building a solid economy, it's usually no problem to get rid of the indians, other europeans and even the king's expedition force. Bit more complex than Civilization, but it's well worth investing the time. True classic!
