Fidget is a word game, unlike other word games, adding unnerving suspense, sound effects, animation and strategy. Fidget is designed to allow up to 5 players, including the Mac as a player. You can also set up a computer to computer game, which may also include up to 3 more human players.
The object of Fidget is to roll a set of dice which are letters and spell out words that must match the order of a set of tiles. You are pitted against a timer (about a minute and a half) to complete the set. You may continue on, to more tile sets, but MUST successfully complete them all or you lose the entire hand. The game also checks the spelling of your words automatically at the end of the allotted time. You may also check your own spelling anytime during play. You may roll as many times as you like. During any roll you may swipe one letter for a new one that may not be visible on the tops of the dice. This may only be done once per roll. Points are given for each successful tile set until one or more players reach or exceed 260 points. The highest one wins!

Hi all,
I wrote this on a Mac Plus about 20 years ago using Think C. Is there still an interest in this game? Some snail mail I got (there was really no internet then, only my CompuServe account) from happy players that said they wanted to add more words and to make an editor for it as well. I was going to try this but got caught up in making more user interface stuff for work and ran out of time. I really liked the spell checker I designed for it though. It used most all of the first 6 letter words in a standard dictionary. I only got one bad remark from someone though, because it was just a scan from a dictionary list so something slipped into it. I should have edited it better. I hope most people liked it though. I just did it because I loved the Mac and shareware always was (is) a great concept. I got the timer countdown noise from a very scary movie that was around in the early 80's. Can you guess it??
See you later -- Tony
