Controls are much cruder than those of the later games (the glider is in constant motion - you can only change its direction.) Many graphics are unique to this version, most notably the "bad cat". B/W only.

Got this one on my LC III, but the controls are terrible...
Does anyone have copies of the very rare 1.x and 2.x releases of this game?
Glider has a very simple concept, as many early Mac games did, but it was brilliantly executed and is still enjoyable to play today. I realised yesterday that I love the feel of old games like Glider because you can tell that they made the graphics on a computer not that dissimilar to the one you're playing it on! You can see all the familiar MacPaint patterns in the graphics - check out the 'brick' pattern wearing through the wall (with a bit of the spray-paint tool for good measure) in the guitar room to see what I mean. Glider got more developed and complex with later versions, but the original conceit still stands out as an absolute classic of 1980's Mac games. It's a very elegant, concise game with excellent graphics and simple but engaging gameplay. Truly excellent.
Love the music, never played this version!
Awesome Game
