This game reminds me of Fallout for its glitches. On Fallout, I always had to quit the game after saving because if I saved again during the same session, the saved game would be corrupted. On Gorky 17, saving games gives no trouble but the script system is haywire. I still haven't been able to get pass Grandma, the second boss, because the door can be opened but not passed through, or she dies without dropping the hand, or the team can't go back up the port area afterwards. Even after I'm through with that part, I'm going to keep using several save slots in case I encounter further glitches that will force me to revert--just like in Fallout. Although in Fallout, it was more of a case of missing something and then not realizing it until it was too late.
Here are a couple of things I didn't saw on the manual:
Update:
I think I figured out the glitch related to the hand that Grandma, the second boss, fails to drop after being defeated. I noticed that the box next to the singing mutant was also missing on all the games in which the hand glitch occurred. So after starting a new game after so many tries, I noticed the box finally showed up. I thought that maybe the hand was going to appear as well, and it did. If both glitches are in fact one, then after your first battle, move the cursor to the left side of the screen to see if the box is there. If not, don't waste your time and restart.
By the way, before you open the door to the sub station, save your game, because you might not be able to get out. The first thing you should do after getting the hand is to climb the stairs. If you can't, open your saved game and try again.
Update 2:
Did I say this game is buggy? Yikes! I couldn't get pass the first area in the museum. Every time I went into battle, the game hanged and I had to do a force restart on my machine. So I deleted it. Life is too short to waste it on poorly done ports.
