Indiana Jones is back! The great archaeologist and adventurer has to solve a grand mystery once again, aided by his trusty whip, his sharp wit, and his courage. A man who calls himself Mr. Smith is interested in a certain ancient statue. When the unsuspecting Indy hands it over to the client, he finds out that Mr. Smith is in fact a colonel in the Nazi army! Why was he so interested in that statue? A girl who had once worked together with Indy, the pretty red-haired (and a bit troublesome) Sophia, tells him the whole thing must have a connection with the legendary lost continent Atlantis. Gathering clues from all over the world, Indy and Sophia embark on their greatest journey!
Fate of Atlantis is not a movie spin-off, but an independent adventure with a brand new story. The gameplay utilizes LucasArts' famous SCUMM system, with action verbs the player chooses from a menu; the objects that can be interacted with are highlighted. The game contains many puzzles of various kinds (mostly inventory-based) and dialogues with multiple choices. There are also a couple of hand-to-hand fights against the Nazis. The middle part of the game can be played in three "modes": co-operation (Indy and Sophia), adventure (Indy alone), and action (Indy alone, with less puzzles and more action). In each mode there are different locations to visit, different puzzles to solve, and different characters to meet. (MobyGames)
This game is also available in a floppy version.

We're still looking for the 1987 text adventure Indiana Jones in: Revenge of the Ancients. If you have the Macintosh version of that game, please upload it!
Fate of Atlantis is also available for Amiga and DOS.

I'm using OSX 10.5.8 on my ibookG4 (12", 1,2Ghz, 768 MB RAM) it seems OS9's stuffit version or whatever was used to pack the file, does something non conformant with packing/ compression, or "the Unarchiever" (latest ppc version for OSX from 2013) or more modern uncompression/ unpacking tools have an issue with these, at least with the *sit it was as I wrote before (same with the dig and fullthrottle).
I just tried the newly added zip above and could unpack it without issues through Unarchiever on OSX 10.5.8 (ppc) and the resulting image is mountable on OSX,... Maybe this could be mentioned in general?
ScummVM seems to blacklist certain "pirated" game versions as it closes when I try to start the game (detection works correctly tho and the game can be added, just not played via ScummVM, I guess it makes sense as for them to stay out of trouble with right holders and keeping it legal for classic adventure gaming itself, I do love these games as well and own most of them).
I do own various versions of the game, but sadly only non-talky ones, or like with Dott only certain language version,... anyway I would have liked to try this, luckily gog.com just added jones and a few other Lucas (now Disney) titles
The actual CD doesn't seem to be compatible with either Basilisk (7.5.5) or Sheepshaver (8.6) under Mac OS 10.6.8 (Intel). Both emulators give me an incompatible message and kick out my personal retail version of the CD. However the Toast file/image mounted and ran fine when added to the list of SheepShaver volumes via SheepShaverPrefs. I had the same problem with Gahan Wilson's Haunted House. The real CD was not readable using emulators.
I just download the file from the internal server, uncompressed it, mounted the image and started up the game OK on my G3 running Mac OS 9.2.2. So the file is OK. Sorry I can't suggest what may be going wrong in your case.
The link on the upper right works but the file is damaged, the data file of the game is not available and thus the game does not work native or via ScummVM. The mega link I could not test as mega downloads just freeze at 99% on webkit for leopard and tenfourfox/ firefox browsers due to a known bug with the way mega handles downloads. But I suspect it might be the same damaged file and thus does not work. Could someone reupload a working image of the game files?
Sure, I believe you're on an Intel based Macintosh, but the game has been created for 68k Macintoshes which existed 10 years ago. So you would need an emulator to play the game.
I dont understand, I went to the link to dowload, everything was fine, but when I went to go and play it, it wouldnt work. Is there any software I need in order to play older games?
I had never play this before, but as soon as I was playing it yesterday for the first time,
it traps you into the Story, very entertaining.
Hands down one of the best adventure games of all time. The story is good, the puzzles are fun, and the voice acting is superb.
One of the greatest games ever made! I remember the original Amiga version that spanned 12 disks!!
it's ok now. Great job. It runs on my imac g3
works fine here.
The link is just reloading the page
The last time I played the talkie version of this game was in 1997. Thank you very much SwedeBear. You just made my week!
