The player can take an active part in many pictures and experience the story. The player brings the story to life, and he takes a role in which he must deliver on small tasks.
The Birthday game, for example, or to even just click through the image on the screen, because every picture offers something new to see. The story is divided into different chapters that are also individually selectable. The CD-ROM offers also plenty of how-to tips around the birthday celebration.
The Janosch games are very nice and suitable for very young peoples, and the CD ROM is very user friendly. The games help promote the creativity of the child and logical thinking.
Excerpt of hints mentioned in the Readme file:
- QuickTime Movies runs best if "Virtual Memory" is off (Control Panel: Memory), when using PowerMacs, if "Modern Memory Manager" is off
- Loudness can be adjusted by pressing the keys 1 - 9 and 0,
while 1 is silently, 9 means loud, 0 means "Sound off"

- 640 x 480 pixels, 256 colors
The game supports 8-bit color depth (256 colors), but switching the monitor to 16-bit (thousand colors) enables better graphics quality.
