Well the download links of the Quarter Note Website are dead, so I really wonder whether you can actually buy the games from them or not anymore.

i no longer have access to my 68k and ppc macs (they are in another country) and was trying to get this working in sheep shaver. However, it crashes sheepshaver everytime in os 7.5 or os 9.0.4. Has anyone got this working in sheepshaver or can have a try on their setup?

ok problem solved 2.3 (2010-11-06) (64bit or 32bit) doesn't work
rolled back to 2.3 (2009-10-25) and it works

The serial number allows you to continue playing the game after the first chapter. The star pattern is there because you're still in the first chapter.
However, I'm not too keen on this game. It has you take some actions that seem downright mean to the person involved. It also makes a big deal out of being able to make a choice concerning a certain relative of yours, but in the end you find out that this was just nonsense and that if you want to complete the game, you have to take certain actions whether you like it or not. And even though the game creators make a big deal out of how different their character classes are, they really aren't. Maybe someone else will like this game, but I found it disappointing.
I've deleted it off my drive, BTW.

This game is not abandonware. I have removed the serial number from the description. The download allows free trial and if you wish to register you may follow the link to publisher's website, where there are still active options for purchasing a serial via Kagi.

Still, what's registration supposed to do? I thought it was required to make that "black void" go away (that dark swirly starry thing that prevents you from entering some areas, such as the eastern Trog cave and the western part of the desert), but it seems to have no effect on that regard. Am I missing something?

That was the problem! I had no idea that made a difference, as I've copy-pasted quite a few serial numbers without any issues---guess I can't always take the easy route. Thanks!

Try writing it in manually instead of copy-paste. Quite a few applications are restrictive to paste in a reg nr.

The serial number posted doesn't work, I tried copy-pasting it and the game says the registration info isn't valid. The company still has a web site, though, so maybe the game can still be registered?
