King is a version of a classic game originally written in Altair BASIC.
To play simply open the program and select play from the File menu.
You are running a small island for any number of years you choose: try a small number like five for starters. Your objective is to have one thousand people alive on your island when the game ends.
Money is generated by tourism and selling land to industry. The bad news is that once you've sold the land tourism will be reduced and pollution increased. Land can be bought back by typing a negative amount to sell, but be careful not to spend more than you have.
People can be fed either by grants or by planting crops. Remember that pollution will ruin land and reduce tourism unless you spend money to counter it.
