The Living Books Series are also now playable in ScummVM, provided you feed it the right data files. Since Basilisk II seems to not work correctly in Mac OS X Lion (at least for me), this is the better method of getting the games working.
Ah, now I understand, what could may be the cause.
To me, the soundless feature looks like a Sheep/Host issue rather than a Mac OS one.
My XP host plays the games with sound in 7.6, 8.6 and 9.0 all right.
So the current knowledge is, Mac OS 8.6 and SheepShaver plays sound on this game?
So probably we have to un-check the Mac OS 9 field in the Edit form.
Strange enough, no luck with the Shaver and a GNU/Linux 32 bit host (Mandriva),
but both games play fine with SheepShaver, OS8.6 and a XP 32 bit host.
Both those host systems run SDL versions of the Shaver.
My fault, I didn´t think of BII, as my JGM upload and some other Living Books work with the Shaver.
I can confirm that both your uploaded games play fine with BasiliskII / OS8 on a snow leo host.
I´ll check for the Shaver on other hosts later.
Many thanks again, I never new a German version of JGM even existed. I have to admit though, that I like the English ones better. Mabe its not so much fun to listen to the tracks in your native tongue?
Thanks for your comment, that causes me to check both my uploads (JGM and LMAS) in both Bas (Mac OS 7.5) and Sheep (Mac OS 9 installed), but SheepShaver refuses to play sound in both games, even if NativeChecker told me both my uploads of the games are 68k + PPC. So may we have to un-check the SheepShaver setting for this entry and/or ask other peoples to check this in Mac OS 8, also in Bas and Sheep.
Before I've uploaded these cdr images, the Mac partition existed on them.
So I hope, the Mac partition has not been dropped away while uploading the files.
Please note the upcoming version of ScummVM, supporting some Living Books.
Thanks for all the fun stuff you rescued AND uploaded!
Could it be that JGM is defective in so far, that it does not play sound and LMAS is lacking the Mac partition ?
Maybe someone else would like to check that?
