Maelstrom for classic Mac, version 1.3 - Archived as Disk Copy 6.3 "img" and compressed using Stuffit 3.6 for better backwards compatibility. This version isn't time bombed, its an original shareware version, licensed for distribution if unchanged & complete (it is).
Download link for Maelstrom v1.3 now active.
MD5 checksum: 6fb0b0fe4b0d9c5721c55070a3c51be6 *mac-maelstrom-13.sit
The second download is an updater to version 1.4
[See Also]: Maelstrom 3.0.6 PPC a GPL'd free version for PPC Macintosh, Mac OS 9.x
CompatibilitySystem Software 6.0.7 or later and a 68020 CPU or higher. Requires 256 colors or grey scale. I have this on my G4 Mac running OS 9.0.4 with no problems. Runs great.
Also runs great on Basilisk II as long as the B-II display is set to 256 colors.
Comments
I can upload version 1.3, which appears to be a publicly distributed shareware version. Info-mac has version 1.4.2, which has a 30-day trial.
Wonder if I can grab the older version from 1992-1993 or so that was on my parents' machine. No clue if they even still have the computer. Man, I seriously need to go through my old stuff.
You could still host an older version (which I think this was?), since the latest one might not work on old computers (I'm guessing). Just don't supply a serial.
This is not abandonware. It is still sold by Ambrosia:

removed
But prefer to use 3.0 GPL version:
