This is a small beta release to Marathon. The early stages to the Marathon trilogy, what the game would have looked/been like back then. I believe they used a mix of Halo, pathways into Darkness and the first Marathon to create this beta.

Runs fine in classic mode
The .fat file runs in Sheepshaver, but the .ppc.noopt version doesn't.

can you possibly make this rom in a .img format? mabe so i can run it on miniVmac and my old macintosh classic?
This is actually the alpha version of Marathon, called Marathon Zero. It was showed at the 1994 MacWorld Expo and bombed because people thought it was the same thing as Pathways Into Darkness but set in space. Bungie, instead of giving up, kept pushing forward and the rest is history.
If you can't make it run, get M1A1 from the Marathon Archives. The alpha is included as a secret level.
