Guides on emulating older games

I have hunted far and wide for these Marathon scenarios. Finding scenarios for the original Macintosh versions was no easy feat. I've also noted that there are pages for some of the scenarios I'm including in this package, but their links were dead, and this package contains a few new scenarios I tracked down.

This package contains the following scenarios:

For Marathon 1

Devil In A Blue Dress 1.5 (Included for legacy purposes and completeness)
Trojan (Also included is a patch for it to work with the Trilogy version of M1. Trivia: This was also ported to Windows 95/98, albeit using Marathon 2's engine)
U.S.S. Triesty

For Marathon 2

Devil In A Blue Dress 2.2

For Marathon Infinity

Marathon Dissent
Marathon Evil
Marathon RED
Rubicon
The Black Series
Tempus Irae
Tempus Irae 2: The Lost Levels

Installation Instructions
Make sure you have the Trilogy versions of Marathon 1, 2, and Infinity on hand, as the installers will need to modify the original files, and make sure to back up your original copies of the Marathon games as well, in the off chance something goes wrong.

With the exception of Devil In A Blue Dress (M2 version), all the others are standalone games that, for the most part, use their own files. Tempus Irae 2 just contains a MAP file that can be plopped in where ever you installed Tempus Irae, and you can load it as a map in the game's configuration.

Aside from that, just follow each installations instructions accordingly, and again, keep backups of your original Marathon games.

Other Notes

These have all been tested and working on my PowerBook G4 M8592 with Mac OS 9.2.2, and they all work perfectly after installation. Considering the age of Marathon, I don't see why it shouldn't work on Mac OS 8.x, or System 7, or 68k, but I have not tested compatibility that far as I lack the proper equipment to do so, If these scenarios do work on 68k, or any Mac OS below Mac OS 9, feel free to revise this page accordingly. If you run into any issues, grab the 2nd SIT archive to have all of these Marathon scenarios preinstalled, and just copy the folder anywhere on your hard drive.

@marrub: You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

@MikeTomTom: I am sorry to hear that you have trouble with 4shared. You definitely do need an account to download there though, just make a quick throwaway one and move along in the future. I'm not sure where/how you're being forced to install downloader spyware, I use 4shared both on Windows and on my Mac frequently, and I've never seen such a thing. if you have TenFourFox on Mac OS X and/or some variant of Firefox for Windows, make sure you have Adblock Plus installed with its filters properly updated, and you shouldn't run into any of that stuff.

Woops, I should have updated it to be https as well.
You can download anything from 4shared by making an account. Honestly, I think Dropbox is better, but 4shared's faster.
Will be mirroring soon, and replacing the link with a https link.

@marrub: Thanks for the fixed link, I see http: in Description area & https: in yours.

No matter; 4shared sucks big time & I cannot DL from there as it wants to either force me to install its downloader spyware, or force me to DL via a social network site. Either way, I'm not going to allow it to do that. If there's a direct DL on the page I cannot find it.

This file should be archived here at the Garden and not at 4shared.

I have no idea what's going on with the link. Garden's adding a (seems like a formatting error in the page!) to the end of the link despite it not being there.
https://www.4shared.com/file/XJ4Gb_EPce/MarathonCollectionsit.html - Working link.
Edit: I've fixed the link. There was a newline where the URL string was.

the 4shared link appears to be dead

Indeed.
All content under 1GB in size should now be uploaded to the Macintosh Garden, direct. Read the admins post here
