Version 4 of Flight Simulator was released just 15 months after version 3. The changes include:
* Makeshift airplane designer, which allowed for wing adjustments and weight, speed, and color changes.
* New aircraft: Sailplane
* Random weather patterns
* Dynamic scenery (e.g. air traffic)
Like the previous release, version 4 included scenery for five cities (New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago). Version 4 also supported newer add-ons such as Microsoft's Aircraft & Scenery Designer, and Sublogic's USA scenery series, as well as a multiplayer option.

CompatibilityWorks best in Mac OS 7. Will work in OS 8 and 9, but not as reliably.
Comments
I've been having strange experiences with this one on OS9 machines. For some unexplained reason it 'likes' some Macs more than it likes others. On my iMac G4 or iBook G3 it would usually crash after a few minutes of gameplay, on my PowerBook G4 this one runs very well though. I haven't been able to figure out why.
As for the gameplay, it's all there that you'd expect from a Flight Sim. Well, maybe the blocky graphics aren't exactly what you'd expect today but apart from that it does a good job of giving you the feeling of flying a plane. I like that the view, the instruments etc. are all windows, so you can drag them as wide as your want.
As for system requirements, I remember playing this on a Mac LC II back in '93. It was low end but playable, so everything above that should work fine.
This is now an .img.sit download (Disk Copy 4.2/Stuffit 4.0 )
Nice, this one still runs on Mini vMac with System 6 installed, even in b/w.
nice joke lol
Filipe, this crashes in any OS. The key is to avoid the ground.
Crashes under Mac OS 9.2.2. Runs ok under 8.6
