I got the best results by copying the "Murder, She Wrote" folder from the CD-ROM root to my hard drive. Still didn't see the videos, though - I heard their audio but just saw white boxes. (SheepShaver, OS 8.6)

EDIT: QuickTime just doesn't seem to work for me in SheepShaver with OS 8. I updated to OS 9 and the game works fine. It's fine in Basilisk II as well, except that I can't use the "option" key for some reason, so if you use it in BII, you'll need to know the following key combinations, since you won't be able to option+click on the puzzle to access them:
⌘+B - Go Back
⌘+C - Recut the Puzzle
⌘+M - Show the Menubar
⌘+S - Solve the Murder (only available once the puzzle has been solved)
