Practice Makes Perfect French

A comprehensive program for learning French vocabulary, long-forgotten words, expanding vocabulary and perfecting pronunciation!
The Pronunciation section includes:

• Alphabets - learn individual letters and practice using them.
• Vowels - learn the vowels and how to pronounce properly.
• Consonants - learn the consonants and how to pronounce them properly.
• Word Pairs - learn to distinguish between words that are spelled similarly BUT are pronounced differently and have different meanings.
• Combinations - learn how target language words are emphasized when Spoken in context.
• Numbers - learn the target language numbers, and go on to tell time.

A note about the files available:

• First download above contains the German version for PC (Windows 3.1/95) and Mac OS 7.1 to 9.2.2

The Vocabulary section includes:

• The Learn screen - learn and practice the target language vocabulary words at your own pace.
• Text Drill - practice spelling, identifying the correct article, and using specific characters in the target language.
• Picture Drill - practice naming objects related to your selected topic of study.
• Oral/Aural Drill - practice your listening comprehension and speaking skills.
• Flash Card Drill - rapidly review the vocabulary words as they flash on the screen.
• Association Drill - practice recognition of associated words in groups by playing a Game.
• The Browse screen - review the entire vocabulary or search for specific words.

In the Preferences area of the application, there is an option "Übungszielsprache" ("language to be learned"). choose between "German >> French" or "French >> German" (the later one is pre-selected).

System requirements Mac:
Motorola 68030/33 MHz, 4 MB RAM, hard disk, 256 color display, Mac OS 7.1.
MacRecorder can be used with this application.

System requirements PC:
386DX/33 MHz with 8 MB RAM installed, or 486DX/33 with 4 MB RAM installed.
SVGA with 256 colors, DOS 5.0+, Windows 3.1/95.

Common requirements:
Sound card, microphone (optional). Speech recognization Windows only.

When the application starts, the first options given are:
• Quit
• Switch to 256 colors
