I wish there was a OS X Launcher :'(
YW. I just installed 3Dfx OK then tried it out on SW, in Classic mode under OS X (PPC) and it was a no go. Then I read above in the description area that SW itself doesn't work under classic. I guess this extends to 3Dfx, too - bummer. I'd love to see an OS X launcher app for this (I guess I'm not alone there, either).
@MikeTomTom Thanks for pointing that out! I hadn't seen that their homepage also had a section for the Mac files.
The 3Dfx SW files are available from the 3dRelms site as a free DL.
Thank you for the upload! I was also looking for the 3Dfx files for SW. Can someone help me out?
There are good things and bad things about this port. It is clearly based off the Duke3d port for mac, which allows you to easily load .GRP mods by simply dragging them in. The original Dos version couldn't do this! (If you wanted to use a mod in Dos, you had to patch the game.) Unfortunately, this Mac port doesn't have 3dfx support, or use any of the original voxels. Nevertheless, this is a good port of a fantastic build engine game. It's worth downloading for sure!
Hmm why is sound soo choppy in SheepShaver, can this problem be fixed? And the game runs in slow motion when emulated.
But when I use a my real imac OS 9.2.2, all games run smooth as butter! At the moment Im using a 5GB virtual drive for my games and 10GB for my OS 9.0.4 HD virtual drive, with 512RAM cycles
Any help would be great
I've owned an original copy of this game since 1998. Totally epic! Heaps better than DN3d!
