This game works with: Basilisk II,

From Wikipedia:

The Player steps into the shoes of a teenager who is dared by his friends to spend the night in the grounds of a haunted museum - Professor Windlenot's Museum of the Strange and Unusual.

The main character soon finds the way in and discovers more than was bargained for: the museum's owner, archaeologist Professor Windlenot, disappeared some 15 years before the story begins - as it turns out, he was killed by energy-sapping elemental spirits called Ixupi. In 1980 two teenagers also went missing; as the player explores, it becomes clear that they broke into the museum themselves and were also victims of the Ixupi.

The object of the game is to survive the night by re-capturing the mischievous spirits of the Ixupi before they drain the player's life force. In order to do this, the player must collect and match up the vessels and lids which once contained the spirits, and then use each complete vessel on its corresponding Ixupi (e.g. the water element vessel, with the water element lid and the water element spirit) to re-capture them one by one.

Of course, this is not as easy as it sounds, as the vessels have been separated from their lids and all of the components have been scattered around the museum, which is itself full of fiendish puzzles set up by the Professor.

This one works; many thanks!
Does the patch update to a newer version? Can you say if it will be essential?

Doh! How did I get it wrong ??? I must have been very tired ...

I don't have access to the CD for another 12-12 hours (daughter sleeping, and it's at the back of a bookcase in her room). If you upload it, post when you start or I'll do it tomorrow.

'Disk Utility' mounted image as a HFS+

Then the file format of this download is wrong.

by SwedeBear - 2010, September 10 - 1:07pm

Downloaded and unstuffed this archive. Unstuffing went fine. When I mounted the image by Toast´s plugin 'Mount it' it presented two volumes; Shivers and Shivers-1. Obviously same name on both volumes. The content differed between the volumes but it appeared to be Mac-only; ie no .exe´s or .dll´s. When I took the image to the Toast application it reported it as a hybrid disk. Same report in both 5.2.3 and 10.x. 'Disk Utility' mounted image as a HFS+ but only one volume with content identical to one of the earlier mounted volumes.
It somehow seems to be corrupt somehow even the mounting apps doesn´t report any disk related error.
I´ve got 'Shivers' in original (for once…) and could make an image if there´s needed, ie no solution to this one.

Isn't recognised by the Mac ?

Or by the game ?

Did Stuffit complain about anything at all when you unstuffed it ?

Can Toast just mount the (locked) disc image ?

This may be one of those Toast images that Stuffit corrupts, it's done it a few times, maybe 10% get hosed. I double-check them all now, but this might be one of the early ones.

This has 141 downloads, and this is the first complaint, did anyone else have any issues ? or no issues at all ?

Something's not right with this one.
I burned two discs to be sure, but it isn't recognised when inserted.
Can anybody else verify my claim, or is it just failing with me.
